Ho, What size are the swivel hoist rings on your Disco? Do you have the specs? |

These rings are available from any of a number of industrial suppliers for a fraction of what $afari Gard gets. They are used extensively on injection molding applications to move molds, etc. around. Plastic Process Equipment is a good place to start. You might also want to check out your local material handling shops as they may have them. Paul |

What is a bare minimum rating for our applications? What is overkill for us? Are the ones with a rated load of about 10,000lbs safe enough? Just wonderin'...... -L |

L- Looks like that one rated at 75,000 lbs (with a 5:1 safety factor) would about do it!

Leslie, I think most of the ones you see (SG and RTE) are rated at 5000lbs with a safety factor of 5:1. In theory this means that the little pin should not shear until it is spiked to 25,000 lbs. I have two of the 5k rings on my ARB but worry they are not strong enough for a serious recovery. In retrospect I should have gone with two Dixon Bate jaws. |

Al, that's not bad - instills more confidence in me than the little swivel pin in the 360 deg swivel mounts - and cheaper too. Thanks, Bill |
