I have a few issues with my '97 Disco SD. 1. It seems to lean to one side rather than sit level. 2. the steering box is leaking, how hard is this as a do it yourself. Also the check engine light is indicating that there is a fault with fuel sender. Can this also be done at home without too much trouble? I love my Discovery and want to try to keep it running well but with a 4th kid on the way funds are tight! Thanks, Gregg Smith, Arlington, TX |

Gregg, 4 kids and a Disco . . . better teach the kids how to wrench, maybe one can become a mechanic 1. If it leans too much, you probably need springs. 2. Clean the steering box and find the location of the leaks. Often relplacing the stock clamps (with regular hose clamps) right where the hoses meet the reservoir helps stem the flow, but it could be the lower hoses or even the lower seal. |
