I'm getting ready to purchase a front bumper and winch for my 99 Disco II. I haven't heard much good from ARB. What's the best of these two brands? What about the skid plates that go with them and ease of installation? Any opinions are appreciated.

I don't have a bumper on the front of my rig yet, but I follow these discussions closely for when that time comes. Just a couple points that have been brought up in the past:

The ARB non-airbag seems to have a better rep around here than the airbag version. I don't know if you want to look back into that or not. Also, I believe at least one either SG or TO require you to purchase either a skid-plate-version or non-skid-plate version. If you don't have the money to get the plate right away you cannot add their integrated plate later. You could probably buy someone else's plate to put down there later, but if you really like the integrated look you'll need to suck up the extra $ up front.

To give you a another option, have you looked into the RoverTym bumpers? On their site you will find Slim and Standard blades. All the pics of the Slims use an A-bar type bar while all the pics of the Standard use more of a "traditional" brush bar. However, you are able to mix these (Slim w/ brush bar, for example).
