My front sunroof opens fine. But when you go to close it, it slides up to the point where it is about to shut, and then it just sticks. The left hinge that moves the glass pretty much up and then pulls it back, sticks right before it is suppose to go forward and shut the sunroof. The right one is fine and starts to move forward and close the right side but can't because the left side won't go anyfarther. Used to the whole pushing it up to help it shut worked but now it doesn't. I have been holding the back of the glass and pushing it up and down till it shuts (almost taking off my hand). Any ideas , tips, comments, Favorite Beer, anything to help would be appreciated |

Hey man, same problem on my front sunroof in the '96. I just try and open and close a few times, always ends up closing. My favorite beer is Heinekin or Abita Turbo Dog.. have some ready for me at SAE.. Peace. RS |

I don't know about a fix, but if you are in a jam... I believe if you pop open the blanking plate in front of the sunroof on the ceiling console that there is a manual sunroof control. I think it is just like an allen wrench to crank it shut. Just a thought, and I could be wrong. |

Silicon spray on the tracks. Clean and lube the tracks worked for mine. When it got stuck I found that pushing up lightly with one finger against the glass as I closed the roof made it work. Hope that helps. |

I agree, a one finger push is better than any LR dealer. |

My front sunroof is also a royal piece. It only goes up and down - not open and occasionally decides to stay open against my efforts to close it. Any idea about how much it would cost to actually get the sunroof fixed so that it is once again fully functioning? (Not at dealer but at british car shop - as I usually find them to be a bit less pocket-breaking). |
