My tach is bouncing, or more like fluctuating at lower rpm's....between 0-3000 rpm it twitches as the rpm is rising...then levels off at around 3000 rpm...Any ideas/ Thanks Dan |

I'd check : routing of serpentine belt, then check the alternator itself..... then go from there, but, it'll probably be one of those two, I think..... -L |

I have seen that before, it became a precursor to alternator failure. |

Is it me, or is this becoming a daily thread? No offense intended, Fisher - this problem just seems to be popping up a lot lately. I would say there is about a 9 in 10 chance that your alternator is about to take a crap on you. |

I did not know that this was a common thing. I have just seen it on one rover here locally. Is there an explaination for this? Or should it just be taken as a positive thing... at least you know when your going to loose your alternator? |

Think of it as an $800 idiot lite.....that's about what the dealer will quote you to replace the alternator. |
