I installed a cd changer that I purchased from a very reputable dealer on eBay in my 97 Discovery today. I can see the red light iluminated in the unit, but the cd cassette will not eject, and "cd" does not appear as an option when I press the "band" button on the radio. I was feeling very manly, having disassembled the seat and all, but after calling the local dealer and having them tell me that it sounds as if my "unit is defective", I am at a loss. Please tell me that my unit is not defective, and that there is a simple solution to this problem!!!! Thanks, Dave |

Same thing happened a few months ago to another D-Webber. Was the shipping screw installed in the player? If not, the "eye" (I think) that reads the disc is able to vibrate and can be damaged during shipping, causing the unit to not function. I'm no expert on this, but I think that's what happened to the other player. |
