I have a set(5) of Disco steel wheels I am getting ready to mount. When I got them some were silver and some were black. Thought I might just powdercoat(PC)them all black before I mount. Anyone done this ? Will the PC last better than paint ?? Thanks

have them blasted and painted but not powerdercoated. The powder coating will get eaten off the tires by all the sand and other grit you kick up into the rim. In a year you will want to paint them again....

just my $.02

I say powdercoat them. You can always do both and use spraypaint. Then you can just touch up when needed. A good powdercoat will last.

Use epoxy spray paint.

Krylon EPOXY brand at lowes, 3.27 a can.

IMHO as good or better than powder coat. Vastly superior (harder) than regular paint.

I have a set that are powdercoated black (over aluminum) and they have been extremely durable except where I gouged them with rocks. It obviously shows through. To do over, I would spray paint them because it is easier to touch up. Hi gloss paint looks best.
