I've just had the most amazing thing happen. I took my 95 D1 to the dealer in Colorado Springs last Tuesday for 4 things: Diagnose engine oil leak (severe), diagnose power steering leak (severe), diagnose howling noise in engine, diagnose steering/wandering problem. After they had it for 3 days they told me the engine oil leak was due to a pressure sensor that was leaking and it was ~$50 to replace it. They identified the howling as a "normal" noise from the fan when running the AC, and the wandering was due to badly worn front tires (I'm not convinced of this yet). They hadn't found the ps fluid leak, but were working on it. The following Wednesday (8 days later) they called and said the ps leak was fixed and I could pick it up. I was expecting $400-600 for all the time spent diagnosing, fixing, and cleaning off 7 tons of oil so they could see what they were doing. I got there and they presented the bill to me. $56.40. Total. And that included $5 of gas (at going rates) since it was nearly empty and they had to add some for so they wouldn't give it back to me empty. The ps fluid leak (that's plagued this vehicle since my dad bought it new in 95) was corrected by tightening the collars on the hoses. The dealer in Amarillo, TX (where he had it serviced for its first 60,000 miles before selling it to me) had tried to fix this leak 10 or 12 times over the years to no avail. And these guys fixed it FOR FREE! What can I say? Did I get the break of the century or does this dealer here actually have a heart? Mike g. |

nice deal. the LR dealer in SF charges $100+ just to diagnose a problem, minimum, not even talking about fixing it. |

I know these guys - they are one of the original LR Centers and they are a great bunch. They are not the only ones (just as well) LR Farmington Hills are great. Also, I was on vacation and had a problem, called in on LR Cary and fixed the fault, no probs. Trouble is, some of them don't get it (LR Akron are crap)! |

LRCS has treated me just as good. John Z and his crew are the best around. |

I'm in Bolder - but definitely willing to drive to CO Springs for good service. Could you post the name and number of the dealer you went to in CO Springs? |

Curtis at colorado springs helped me out also. They had my 95 for a month before they figured out the problem. He worked on the vehicle after hours on his own. Gave me a brand new 2002 disco rent free for my wife to drive while they worked on it and after all the hours took over half of all the charges off the bill went from close to 2000 to 900 and it runs perfect. They defenitly earned a repeat customer with me. |

Mike, I would recommend that you email this link to the service manager, sales manager and owner. I think it would be the best way to pay them a compliment and show them that ethical business behavior does pay! |
