Question for my friend who owns a 1996 Range Rover. It has an "H" pattern gear selector. When driving in high gear, the lights at the gear selector flash and the digital readout on the dash reads select neutral. He has tried selecting neutral and putting it in low gear and back again, but still flashing. Seems to drive fine. Anyone know what this is about? Tried the RR page, but no response. Thanks in advance. |

Is he rolling when going from H to L? |

No, He is standing still as far as I know, but he was only shifting to low because of the flashing lights. He told me it started flashing when he was on the highway. |

Tell him to drain and replace the striping oil, and also pop in a new ZF-canuder valve. This should fix the problem. |

make sure he is holding it in low-neutral for 3 seconds and 3 beeps before selecting a gear. and make sure he is NOT rolling as that would be not good. If you dont wait for the beeps to stop after going thru the H-gate either from hi to low, or low to hi you will get the select neutral message. |
