I know everyone likes the 235/85's for off road. And in snow I know they would be better as well. But what about on pavement. I do mostly highway driving, often at high speed on curvy 2 lane's. I prefer my Audi but when stuck in the rover I still make good time. Do the 235/85's roll over a lot easier than the 245/75's. I figure the 245/75's should be close to stock in the road handling dept. I'm worried the 235/85 will really roll over and decrease my road feel and grip. Mainly looking for opinions between the two or complaints/concerns/remarks both good and bad about either but relating to on road performance. Are there any disadvantages to the 245's? I know I'll likely have to trim rear fenders but thats fine. l8r Todd |

245/75, you can put on w/ stock springs, albeit w/ a little trimming. 235/85, you'll need taller springs or spacers, plus the same trimming. 235/85 will nab you a bit more ground clearance, and usually are cheaper than the same tire in 245/75. I would suggest that you pick the tire that suits your needs, then adjust your driving a bit if needed. Maybe not much help, but, it's dos centavos' worth I guess.... -L |

Your Right about price. The 245's do seem a bit pricier. As for getting the ones that are right for me, I guess thats what I'm having difficulty with. My main worry is Snow. I'm worried the 245's will be to wide and hurt my snow traction. But the 235/85's probably have about the same surface area due to thier larger diameter so who knows. ANyhow, still lookign for more opinions. Thanks TOdd |

I have 245/75's on my '95 disco. I've been to Tahoe and Utah in "chain required" snow. It felt the same as the stock Michelin's. No problems |

I wouldn't pick 235/85 versus 245/75 based on snow.... the size difference won't make anywhere near the difference that different tires would, say, MT versus AT. Pick the size between those two that suits you best, then pick a good tire that suits your use. Good luck, -L |
