Anyone change this unit out. I purchased VSS from nathan and looking for pointers on replacing this.
Is this difficult to replace?

Easy replacement, one hex socket capscrew. Disconnect the electrical connector, unscrew the screw, remove unit, wipe area, place new unit, insert screw, tighten hand tight.

Re-attach electrical connector.

Al, if you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay for speed transducer? Also, do you have a part #? I think mine is about go and will need to replace as well. Also where is it located? Thanks

Mike

Hey Al,
It's easy if you have the rover on a lift. otherwise it's a pain in the butt to see it. And it's awkward to actually turn the allen wrench becuase of all the stuff in the way. I know - i did it a month ago. everyone who says it's easy is lying. but don't take my word for it. try it and see.
Do yourself a favor get it lifted somehow. Jacks aren't enough.

I didn't even jack the truck up. I do have OME HD springs and 32" tires. If you have some sort of shop light that helps a lot. But honestly it took me longer to select the right allen wrench than it did to do the job.

cheers

Thanks,
Jeff do you remember the size of the allen wrench
my chance?
I already install myself OME HD springs and then later installed 1 inch spacers. Dealership wants $250 to install. I firgured i needed to bond more with my disco.

Just an update, I use a 5mm hex wrench and exchanged the VSS in 15 mins. Dealer wanted $250 to replace including part. Cost me $65 and no blood. For anyone thinking about doing it in the future, consider the front North and work at in a (head)west and legs east direction. Thanks for information guys.
