I have one last obsticle in getting ready for the Nat. Rally. I have a slight rattle coming from the rear of the truck. I occurs at 35-45mph, when you let off the gas (no load on rear end). Since the noise started I have repacked bearings and rebuilt differential (broken spider gears). I sounds like a bearing rattle. I initially thought it was the pinion bearing. The guy who rebuilt the diff didn't replace them because he said they felt okay. There is no play in the pinion when I get under the truck and push on driveshaft. The U-joint seems okay. A friend diagnosed it as possibly the rear A-arm ball joint. Got any ideas? |

Possibly , or it might just be the slop between the tcase and the tans that you are hearing.. Kyle |

Kyle Thanks, the noise seems more "external" thats why I don't beleive its any internal part of the drivetrain. Plus, without winning the Darwin award and hanging under the vehicle while someone drives 40mph, from what I can tell it is coming from the most rear of the drive train. |
