Dave, I think I'm going to go the route of Ho and several others (seen in the Iron Chef Showdown photos under Trails). Lite-weight battery operated lamp that you wear on your head, I think the battery pack clips to your waist (I'm pretty sure they make a rechargable version. I'm growing tired of having to pull out the trouble light/extension cord every time I want to look under the hood. Not to mention, nothing for the creeper wheels to get stuck on. |

I have an cigarette lighter outlet from a boat mounted in the engine bay and use a plug in DC work lamp, it clips to the hood and provides some workable light much more candel power than the tiny bulb i had in the RR |

I just have my girlfriend hold the maglite. I get a light on what I am working on and it gives her something to do so she stops nagging. Problem solved! |

I saw something that was really cool. It was stock on a jeep or something. It mounted on the inside of the hood and had a light in it. You could grab the light and the wire would reel out for about 10 feet or so. The light socket had a magnet on it so you could mount it where you were working. (a little harder on a rover). Has anyone seen what I'm talking about? I wouldn't mind getting one. |
