Ok, take a minute to complete the poll I just created on the lr-discovery Yahoo Groups about cylinder head repair and the land rover v8 (Disco).
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/lr-discovery/polls

Myself and others are interested in gaining more information as to the cylinder head repair on the Discovery v8's

Thanks, John

As of today, 18 responses. 12 no problems with cylinder heads, 6 reported problems. That's one third with problems.

The poll will remain open, if others wish to complete the survey.

Same here, Yahoo does not recognize my membership since I changed providers. It won't link my new address the way it's supposed to, even tried asking yahoo. They said to try everthing I already did....No response from moderators there.

What dues ? I have never sent any dues in....
Maybe we could get the DiscoWeb crew to setup a survey/polling section ?
The Yahoo! group was the only avenue I knew to set up the poll.

any thoughts ?

Well John to add to your survey,

Cause of my stuck Valve

Aft oil port on right side 80% clogged forward oil Port 50% clogged left bank not much better.

caused by too many additives by previous owner...

Damage it caused

Several over heated valves around the guide area. # 7 cylinder exhaust valve bent and sever galling around guide area
Rocker shaft on right side is really blue in color and the temper is lost and needs to be changed. I have not torn it down to inspect the rockers

The #7 exhaust valve when it started to seize up it stuck the piston ever so slightly I can smooth the ding out. hopefully it will be alright. it made a slight ding in the raised lip. no scars on the cylinder visual inspection no cracks.
