Hey people, would you like to know what it costs to fix a 97 Disco that was hit by a honda civic going just 25 mph? Well, yesterday I was paused at an intersection to turn left and our passenger sides bumped. My suspension was bent and my tire is against the quarter pannel. The bumper, blinker and a few other pannels are bent or broken. I wasn't moving, but the jolt mangled the alignment so that my back tire is also almost against the fender. It's a shitty day for me. - Here's my question: The disco has 81k miles on it. Now that it has had a front end colision, what kind of longevity should I expect from it?

I'm sure it's a lot more than the civic owner can expect! :-)

I'm sorry about your accident and am glad that you're feeling ok enough to worry about the truck.

Interesting how you termed it,
"I was paused at an intersection and our passenger sides bumped."
It sucks that you got hit, but if that guy was going 25 mph and all you felt was a "bump" then I feel safer already.

Yeah, Daniel, I shook a little and was like "what was that?" Then I looked up and there he was, under my bumper. No frame damage - that's as solid as a rock. But the rod was bent when the tire was pushed. So I can't drive it.

Aaawww poor little Civic got smushed by a big nasty Land Rover...*:^(

Seriously I'm going to send this thread to my girlfriend. She is the most paranoid person I have ever had in the passenger seat.
P.S. Let me guess the repair estimate...6 grand for the Disco and about 2 grand for the Civic.

The Civic can be repaired. I'm sure it will cost a hell of a lot less than the Rover. LR of Alexandria (VA) sent me to EuroSport in Lorton. When I talked to John, their tech, he said the radial arm mounting bracket which is attached to the frame was TORN, not just bent, so we're going to have to do some welding. I'll try to get some pics of the repair this weekend.

Has anyone dealt with EuroSport in Lorton, VA before?

Yeah - it's always a bitch to get hit on the wheel like that. It doesn't make any diff HOW rugged your truck is - your gonna see suspension damage.

If the radius arm mounts are anything like the trailing arm mounts, it's no big deal. Actually, time for mods !
