My Rover has been overheating sporadically the last few days. What would cause it to overheat at random times??? I replaced the thermostat yesterday and so far so good but there is no telling. Any suggestions?? And what is the best way for me to flush the system??? Thanks |

What kind of shape is the expansion tank in? The old black ones break at or near the seams. How many miles? Consensus seems to be that these trucks need a new radiator after about 100K miles. Ever been off-road? Take the time to disassemble the two brackets on each side of the radiator so you can lean it backward a little bit and try to spray the gunk out that has collected between the air conditioning heat exchanger and the radiator. Flushing didn't do me any good. If you order a new one and have it shipped to you, tell them to be very careful packing it. I have had three radiators shipped to me that were worthless upon receipt due to poor packaging. Paul |

May be unrelated but a few weeks ago after pressure washing my motor I had some corrosion form on the temp sender that was causing it to read hotter than actual and at times even max out. The sender is behind the distributor on my 95 D1. I just unplugged it, cleaned it and all better. I was pretty sure mine wasn't actually overheating tho. FYI Here is a link to some photos of mine. http://www.c4caraudio.com/lrtemp.htm Shane |

Check your hoses. Any pin hole leak will cause it to overheat. |
