Can somebody email or fax a page from the workshop manual? It is for the following item pictured, the lock mechanism off the rear door. I'm stuck here and need those pages. My fax is 786-524-8287 and my email is [email protected].

Mike, There is a lack of tension in this assembly to keep the lock fully upright when unlocked. I've fidgeted with it to the point that the only way for me to unlock it is to reach into the wayback and put pressure on one of the armatures deeper inside the lock while lifting the handle. Basically, if I had an exploded view, I was thinking I could determine if my theory about a missing spring or other part was true, identify the part and then be able to order it. I'm placing an order for the workshop manual and parts books on CD-ROM but that's going to take several weeks. Speaking of, does the MY in the following book title mean something like multi-year? "Discovery 95/98 MY" Here is a link to the book: http://www.bentleypublishers.com/product.htm?code=YRW5 I'm trying to make sure I order the right book for my 96 D1 SE7. - Steve |

Same problem, I had to replace the latch. It happens on my passenger door also. Huge pisser, every time. I've tried lubing and no luck yet, tried the barrel tightening thing but may not have done it right I'm going to try one more time before another new latch. sorry! Mike |

Steve, I have that page but don't have a scanner, nor have access to fax at the moment. I can bring it at work tomorrow and fax it to you if you haven't resolved it yet. Let me know. BTW, I followed that link to that manual. I have a couple of D1 manuals that I'm selling. Email me if you're interested. I can sell you one for half that. (Shameless plug ) I'll check back tomorrow if you still need this page. Later! -glenn |

I think MY stands for MAY. I.e. the manual being good for Discos manufactured from 01/95 to 05/98. |
