the other day the cruise on my 97 disco was working fine. then the next day it would work for a minute and then begin to slowly lose speed. now it just doesnt work at all. i can feel it trying to kick in when i press the button but it just slows down like it would normally with my foot off the accelerator. anyone else have this problem and is it something i can fix myself? thanks...

if you carefully wrap bailing wire around the duct tape patch, everything should be A-OK. Chewing gum will work, too, but it's not a permanent fix like the duct tape and bailing wire.

you might find that the split is right at the connection. cut off the split area cleanly (if it isn't too big) and reattach to the connection.
