Expecting a baby in a few weeks & just put the baby seat into the Disco II. Was wondering where others positioned the seat. I picked the middle of the backseat. The baby seat did not fit behind the front seats, only if I pushed them forward.

Also, the base of the baby seat covers one of the seat belt behind the passenger seat. Seems you cannot use that one while using a baby seat. Also, a bit awkward clicking the baby seat out of the base & going in/out of the Disco.

As regards BSI, in my D1 I put the BS in the middle of the back seat and use all 3 back seatbelts to anchor it in. There was just enough room at the base of the BS to get at the middle belt anchor. When B was smaller, it was awkward detaching the carrier from the base, but the middle back is the safest place to be. Hell, I want to sit there with 3 seat belts on! Now she's 16 months and she sits in a forward facing BS (still anchored by all 3 belts into the middle of the back seat). Hope this helps.

Hmmm......

I've been buckling mine into the middle of the backseat, too.

I've got two other kids, but! We've not gone anywhere all together since bringing the newborn home... there's a lot of RSV going around, so it's safer for the baby to stay home for now w/ momma...

I'll have to check to see how they all will fit together, both of the other kids plus the new one, too...

Hmmm........

Blue,

Sounds like a great idea, but it's a little late for me now, (the kid sits behind mom now) but how in the heck did you manage to get a three belts through the opening in the back of the seat (and I thought fishing one through was a PITA).

The folks who previously owned my disco had two kids seats in the back one in the center and one behind the passengers seat their third kid sat behind the driver. Man did that look cramped. They were expecting anouther kid so they were getting a larger truck. You should have seen the mechanics face when we first pulled in to get the car checked out :) He asked what we did with all the kids!

While we are on the subject, the roof anchoring point seems to have a cover over it. How do you remove this?

LOL! I have to laugh. When I was looking to buy my DII most of the people selling listed the difficulty of using baby seats as one of their reasons. I must have heard that reason from 9 of the 10 rovers I saw. I hope you find something that works out well, who knows I may be in the same boat myself in a few years.

Buy another car (Volo) to carry children in. It will be easier on all involved. Or mount car seat in middle and deal with akwardness. I hope your Diso is stock. I'm 6'4 and my Disco has 5" lift. Even I have to climb in before I can buckle the boy down good. LOL good Luck

I mounted one seat in the middle (forward facing) and the other behind the passenger (rearward facing). I use the stock belts of which the middle one is a major PITA as it does not adjust easily. But once in, I do not remove the seats. Too much work. I also did not use the roof anchoring point yet and feel the middle seat is actually well suited for small children (3 yrs and up) even with just the lap belt. It would be even better if it had a four or five point harness built in - which I may do.
