Ordered Goodyear MTR in 235 85 R16 for the disco

walmart is matching any online price plus for 9.76 you get the whole deal, mount balance, lifetime rotation and balance and road hazard.

Was going to break down and get the RTs but Wal-mart could not get them and the MTRs actually worked out to less money.

141.76 each mounted balanced waranty etc. Not cheap but a pretty good deal.

Ted,

Where are you located? I have a set of 235/85/16 Goodyear MTR's on my truck, and want the 265's. I have a DII though.

I have 4,000 miles on the tires, and I just moved the spare into the rotation about 100 miles ago. I paid roughly the same as Ron for the tires.

I'm in the Philly area, and would be interested in parting with them for $550.00 for all 5, if you are interested.

why?

Why what? Why do I wish I had 265's? Just because the D2 rims are wider than the D1 rims and after seeing them on a friends truck, I think they are a much better fit on the wider rims and will prevent some rock bites on the rims.

Hey, I'm gonna call you next week about a roof rack. I'm trying to sell mine, and if so, I need a d2 rack. I found a used one, but want to compare the price to new.

And, steelies may be in the distant future. Never know.

Anyone run the Goodyear MT/R's in ICE and/or snow yet??? Should they be siped? I drive primarily in VT/NH/ME.

I need to get some new rubber for my 90. Would like to give the MTR's a whirl. But with Winter approaching, I'm partial to settling on some Rover RT's and getting MTR's in the spring....

Thoughts?

Dave,

I have Cooper Discoverer S/T's as my winter tire(try driving 90 with Buckshot's and a Detroit during a VT winter. Weeeeeeeee...). They are as agressive as the RT's and are severe weather rated too. They also come in more sizes than the RT's. I suppose if there was a 33" to chose from in the RT it would have been my first choice. I went with the 255/85's and I'm extremely pleased.

I'll be in southern VT over Colombus weekend if you would like to see them on the 90 or perhaps to do some wheeling.

Thanks Neil. Do you have them Siped?

I'll take a look at these now.

Where in southern VT will you be? I'm probably going to be in the Mt. Snow/Bennington area of VT visitng some friends.

Let me know and thanks for the good word.
