re-wired two new solenoids in my superwinch X-9 after some thought it may be bad solenoids. Winch just "clicks" at the solenoid when you hit the winch in button, or out button.

any help appreciated.

Not being an expert on this stuff, I did check that power was getting to terminals A, F-1 and F-2 . When you hit the "in" or "out" button, you got current to terminals on winch, but nothing? Superwinch sent me for free a few solenoids to try, based on their phone tech advice, but they did not work.

After alot of time spent on this, I think that even though the winch has only been used 3-4 times, that something in the motor is bad.

any thoughts?

thanks,

check the gounds(front battery to solenoid, and solenoid to winch). my ground from battery to solenoid came loose and it fried the ground to the winch...

Chack the grounds and also that power is just going to one Field at a time. If you push the swich in the spool in direction you should only have power to A and F-1 , selecting the other direction on the remote should give you power to A and F-2. Not both fields at once in either direction . If you are getting that. Disconnect one of the fields from the motor and try both directions with the controler and see what ya get.. Issue could be the controller... Let me know what ya get.

thanks for the help, I am going to see Superwinch tomorrow, they said they have a tech that can look at it for me. I'll let you know what is up.

WOW!

What great service from Superwinch! They not only helped me several times on the phone, faxing diagrams, tech support, but had me come to the Putnam, CT. factory where they quickly determined it was a bad seal that leaked water. They fixed it in half an hour with a new motor no questions asked!
