I have a 96 dicovery. Occasionally the ABS light stays on after I start the truck. I can shut if off and restart it and the light goes off. Also the ABS seems to kick in when braking at relatively slow speed on pavement. Any thought on what may be the problem Thanks |

Welcome to the world of Discos! I have a 96 Disco. I also have exactly the same recurring problem. My Disco has been into the auto shop on a number of occasions, they've checked the computer, reset the fault code, adjusted the sensors............. and normally it is fine........... for a few weeks! I'm almost at the point of just disconnecting the ABS as that is preferable to that disconcerting feeling of coasting to a stop at an intersection and hoping I don't nudge the car in front of me Seriously though, there has been many discussion threads on this subject in here, so at least you won't feel alone. Good luck. |

Get the codes read (I assume the easy ABS reading method ended in 95) at some shop and fix it yourself. Try tapping the sensors in. If that doesnt work, you probably got a bad sensor (ouch-not cheap). |
