While taking a scenic drive through the Hoosier National Forest in Indiana, a red neck in a PoC Jeep crossed into our lane and hit us head on. Fortunately both my wife and I are just fine, other that some abrasions along our arms from the air bags. The other guys jeep was a jacked up PoC with ~35" mudders. His bumper is about 4" above ours, and pushed the radiator et al. into the middle of the engine compartment. All of the doors opened, but the panel/door gaps on the passengers side were really big after the accident. Oh well. To add insult to injury, he did not have proof of insurance, nor registration. The county sheriff gave him 5 days to present the proper documents! The company he said he was insured by, had never heard of him and that this stated telephone number has been disconnected!! Urgh. Oh well, I love my disco, its air bags and uninsured motor vehicle insurance.

Cheers,
Paul

P.S. Does anyone know of a good '96-97 Disco SD for sale? ;-)

Wow Paul, sorry to hear about that. What a downer. Most importantly, glad you and your wife were not seriously hurt. Well, it's been said, statistically, every driver will get into some sort of vehicular accident sooner or later, so if there is an up side, I hope this more than fullfills your quota.

Best wishes,

Kim

Thanks to everyone for the concern both on and off line. No, the guy was not drunk. As he told the Sheriff's deputy, "It was all my fault, I was just driving stupid." Damn right he was driving stupid. I just heard back from the insurance co. It was a total loss. ~10K in damages

Discolessly,
Paul
