I've got 87K miles on my 96 D1 but have noticed a very noticeable "thud" when downshift occurs as I slow down at low speeds for many miles. The "thud", and associated seems to be coming from somewhere near the front of the vehicle and feels like something is not tight in the driveline but not sure. Any ideas what causes this and is this something I can fix without any special tools? My mechanic has been unwilling (or incapable) to diagnose the problem... Any ideas are appreciated! |
