Has anyone built a low cost snorkle for a Disco? I have help install a $350 snorkle on a d-90 and build a $75 snorkle on a RR.. and they have pretty much the same outcome.. Pictures and parts list would be greatly appreciated...

would rather spend the $350 on something other than an overpriced safari guard snorkle.. I'm telling you the $75 home built is better construction and looks great...

Soup cans and duct tape! Just don't forget to slap a D-Web sticker on it.

once you do that soup can deal, take off that discoweb sticker you might have on.

I think he means an ARB Safari snorkel, and you can get them for a lot less than $350 from Nathan.

Its funny how we keep hearing about them but never see them. I agree that it can be done but if you want a good result its not gonna be easy or all that damn cheap... Time is money.....

What is the difference in the South Down version vs. the ARB/Mantec? I know it is only defender made, but it looks different too.

Just curious,

I have the pictures on my computer at home, I will post later in the week. Basically its pretty fancy, used the factory air cleaner housing mounted to full roof rack. the PVC and clamps were run very easy with lots of room in the Range.. the cirlcular hole we had to drill in the fender was the only tricky part.. just triple checked measurements and finished off the rough hole with 1/2 rubber hose and some primer & paint.

Hmmm. The factory air box raised to the level of the roof rack? This does sound "fancy". Did you also keep the little air trumpet on there for good measure?

Since I'm awake....
you will need to have the pictures in jpeg format and less that 80K each. Check out the Formatting link on the left side of the screen under Documentation.
Basically you would type \ image{name of picture} without the space in there. Make sure the slash is the right way and make sure you use the right brackets.
Then when you try to post (and you log on) it will ask you to upload the file. You can do multiple images in a post, each one needs to be in that format though.

good luck.

BTW, there is a test area if you click the Topics link on the left side of the screen. Try there first.

If all else fails, send them to Ho and he'll post them for you. Plus, you have to be registered to post the picts.
