After installing +2 inch springs this weekend, I swear the truck runs better. I have, however picked up some vibrations.

Parked on the level the frame shows within a degree of level and the driveshaft measures 10 degrees.

Is it safe to assume that the TC output is level to the ground? Is the flat on the bottom of the diff tail piece with the 2 tapped holes parallel to the pinion shaft?

The flat showed about 5 degrees. Which if accurate seems like a fair bit to be out of phase.

This is on a '96 with 114,000 so many parts are suspect. The roto is less than a year old and the bushing, well they aren't cracked at least.

Input appreciated,

Eric

What no love, do I sound that clueless!

Is the only way to measure pinion angles to pull the shaft?

Thanks,

Eric

Well, I don't know much about this exactly but, I would say that No the Transfer case is not always level with the frame and the pinion is not level with the flat spot on the dif either. AS for how to measure it I never really figured that out and I don't have the tools to do it either. Maybe some one else will chime in.

If it makes you feel better I have been trying to track down what is making my truck vibe a little at certain speeds. Been trying to do it for a year now and still haven't figured it out. I'm pretty sure it isn't the drive shafts doing it though. Since I have run 3 different types. I'm thinking maybe I have worn bearings in my T-case or my truck was just built on a Friday. I'm pretty much giving up on it and just living with it. If Kyle makes a loop that will work with my set up then I'll just get that as a "just in case" type thing.

What makes it worse is you read, http://www.4xshaft.com/vibrations.html and realize how true it is.

Maybe our truck have poor harmonic convergence and incense and rattles is the right path.

The Tcase is suposed to be pointing slightly down (About 3-4 degrees if we are talking the rear of the T case) an the pinion should point up the same amount. If we are talking front then you are probably going to need to get a DC shaft and get the pinion pointing straight at the output flage on the Tcase. I think that ends up being around 10 degrees or more....
