do a search for 'belt routing'. you will see it there listed by leslie or myself. just loosen up the tensioner and take the old belt off. reverse for putting on. really no trick to it. just make sure you follow that routing.....it can go on more than one way.

FYI, #1 in the pic is the tensioner.

lol....

I don't think it's really hand-drawn, it's just a really low-res scan.... :)

I've been meaning to get out mine, and do a clean scan, but, since that one IS usable......... well........

lol....

Blake,

The correct way to do the install is to put the serp belt around all of the pulleys except for the alternator (3). Then get a bf wrench or a cheater bar if you have one on the tensioner bolt (1). Turn the tensioner clockwise and it should allow enough slack to get the segment of belt from 2-4 over (3).

When I'm doing the install, I put a little piece of duct tape on the bottom of (6) to keep the belt routed properly, just don't forget to take the tape off when you're done....

Good luck,

I just replaced mine a few minutes ago. Didn't have to use the duct tape but did leave it off of the alt and did that last.

Nuther helpful hint: I kept trying to use a normal socket wrench on the bolt and then crowbar or some other thing to move the tensioner. It was a pain in the ass. Then I went and found my torque wrench. Jacked that baby up to 100 and it turn and moved the tensioner no problem. Lesson learned.
And a 14mm sockets works dandily.
