Gettin' ready to go to work this morning... Start Disco and go back into house to get day-timer. Come out and fine a puddle under my truck that is getting bigger. OK, fine, I think to myself. Maybe it really was the water pump going bad making that awful whistling noise. Pull truck back and find it is oil! And, more is dripping. Out comes the can of Gunk and the hose. Oil was literally pouring out of a tiny little hole in the oil pressure switch. $31 overnight shipping for Saturday delivery of a $5.00 part! Anybody else had this happen? Disco with 150K. Paul |

Had that happen with my first D1, a 94. The oil pressure switch is the same as when the engine was built by Buick, i.e. a 1962-65 v8 215 cid. Pretty amazing to hear a LR tech as the local auto parts stores if they had one. Best to remove it, drill part of the electrical seal area out and fill it with epoxy for a temp. fix. Bill M. |

Thanx Bill. I considered brazing a penny over the hole, but I was worried (later to be proven unfounded) of losing oil pump prime and not being aware of it until too late. In a '95, I doubt they'd honor to recall, not to mention the nearest dealership is two hours away, oh yeah, that one is a stealership. |

They still honor recalls. Heck I have seen people with 88 RRs get new gas tanks.
