So I go to pop the hood earlier and the damn thing wont open, the latch won't release no matter how hard you pull the release, got under it and tried to jimmy it with a screw driver and nothing happened, got pissed off and drank some beer and now I am turning it over to you guys, any suggestions????

Disco2? You might need a new cable. Do a search here on hood.

nah, its a D1 guys but it actually does look like a cable going to the latch is loose or broken, how can I get the damn thing open to realy get a look up there??? I have tried pushing the latch over with a screw driver. My Haynes manual has a good write up about how to get the latch out and stuff but it looks like it can only be done when the bonnet is open.

I couldn't open mine for crap on my D1 one time. So, going down the HIGHWAY at about 70 the thing decides it wants to come open (So that is why they have the latch...). The latch kept it from flying into the windshield. I tried my hardest to figure out why it was so damned hard to open to no avail. Finally, after beating my head against it, the bolts that hold the striker latch came loose. Once I adjusted the striker latch, it was no problem to open and close. As for getting the hood open to do this? I literally tied 550 cord (parachute cord) around the hood release handle and pulled until my fingers almost fell off and that worked (sometimes). Since I adjusted the striker latch, I have had no problems. Just a thought.

Try having someone push down on the hood while you pull the latch. It worked for me once.

Best of luck.
