You might wanna check in the Drivers side rear wheel well for the connector there. Somethimes that gets badly corroded and the pump dies intermitently. Kyle |

I've had this problem with the fuel pump not turning on for a couple of months now ,I've had it to the local auto electric guy .The dealer has replaced two fuel pumps under warranty ,and i have had almost everything in the disco apart including that wiring harness by the left rear wheel well to the fuel pump.It dosent die but it wont start intermitently about every week I will take the plug apart on that again to double check but I believe it has someting to do with the wires connected to the relay (besides the wite w/purple)specificly the solid purple if you have any other idea's I would be very interested. also has anybody heard anything good or bad about ship's mechanical in portland or. |

Paul Had similar problems on my 96 disco. The connecot that plugs into the pump was not making good contact. Also the connectors on the other end were not very well. Result was the pump would cut out. I purchased a new harness ($40) and hard wired the end that connects to the main harnesss. I also had to replace the main relay under the hood near the washer jug. It burner out. You may want to check that also and make sure the connections are good. Also check the ground leads(a total of 8 I think). A loose ground can be a major pain in the ass. I used a multi meter to find out where I had power. You should have 12V at the pump. Also, when you turn the key on you shouls here a "clicking" sound come on. That is the fuel relay under the passengers side of the dash board. If you don't here that, probably have a bad relay. Good luck |
