Okay, not a Disco question, but you folks might have some advice. I'm looking into a 1983 RRC, however, it supposedly is a grey market import from Canada. The guy has a title for it...so my question is, will I have any trouble trying to register this vehicle (in Nevada)? Thanks! |

If it's already titled in the US you should be okay. The import laws weren't as strict in the 80's and it could have been imported legally. |

Lots of missing and misleading info on that page Danno. Jason, if you have a US State title for the vehicle try and get all paperwork such as when the vehicle was imported or first titled in the US. The current 25 year rule wasn't in effect until the late 80's (I think). So it's very possible that that Rangie was imported back then. And you CAN import a newer vehicle such as a 1993 D110 legally if you really want to. If you want to be sure you can try calling your local DMV but you'll have to find someone who knows what they're talking about and that may be a challenge in itself. I had a friend back in the mid 80's who imported a BMW 323i that was less than 5 years old and it was legal and still is. |
