I've been looking at used Disco II's at the local dealer - '00 and '01 fit my budget. Use will be mostly off-road, taking the place of our '89 Raider (Montero). Here is what I've found - '00's with 24k to 34k mileage run from $26k to $28k including what is left of the factory warranty (1.5 years or so, mileage is not a factor.) In addition, they'll give the $100 deductable per visit warranty going out a few more years and many more miles. '01's with 10k to 20k miles are higher - $27k to $31k with the remainder of factory warranty, but no extended warranty. Am I better off with an older, higher mileage disco with longer coverage ($100 deductable) or a newer, lower milage, but no extendended warranty? I'm aware that I should check the '01's to see if they will be retrofitable with CDL. Thanks for any help you can give... -John Friederich Las Vegas, NV |

John... if both have the CDL I would go with the one you like best. There isn't the much of a difference between the '00 or '01 other than the CDL. Just make sure it has the CDL. Check for the CDL nipple. Al PS - Did I say look for the CDL already? |
