The driver side and passenger side of my truck have soaking wet carpets. I have no Idea as to where the leak is coming from. Anyone experience this yet 98 Disco |

The AC drain tube may be cloged. Look under the vehicle near the transmission tunnel for the drain tubes and make sure they're not backed up. If you do a search here you'll find more detailed information. |

I found the windscreen leaking at the upper r/h post, used rtv black sealant. cleaned all contact area with alcohol and spring clamps to hold in place till cured. That was six months ago no leaks so far. Also found r/h & l/h back side windows leaking at top. Where the joint in the seal is top centre is used popsical sticks to open edge up were the seal is installed on frame not the decorative part, cleaned and use rtv black sealant still tight. Paav Scan - Where were you having water problems? I have recently been finding water on the driver's side rubber floor mat... Could this be the windscreen? Should the rubber seal around the wind screen be tight to the body work? Mine is definatly loose but I'm not sure if that's normal. |

I had the same problem on my disco I. The water was coming in under the lower windshield rubber gasket. In theory, the water should have drained out of the firewall drains, but in a very heavy rain, some managed to enter the fresh air intake and drip out bottom of the air box. the water was seen on the RHS floor mat. The rust on the fan motor screws confirmed this was in fact the case. I used a very thin bead of black silicon on the lower lip and have not seen any water since. |

To Chad The wind screen seal is made up of several pieces the joint in the upper corners is most likely the culprit I could put a Q tip through. The decorative part is not sealed to the body. As the water runs down and under the seal. the water travels to the outboard side and down the sides under the seal decortive edge. As per the work shop manual section 76 pg 51 the window is glued the seal and sealed again. I have not removed a wind screen, and will not atemp to replace the seal myself. |

I had big time leaks from my windshield, 2002 disco II. Headliner soggy 6" up from windshield. Dealer attempted to fix first. That didn't work, they then put a new seal in and haven't had any leaks yet. I have also heard that the factory roof rack holes were bigger than the screws holding them in. Remove headliner and try sealing these as well. KD |
