Well, thanks to Mr. Lee giving another D2 owner "short rack" syndrome I was able to pick up an adventure rack over the weekend. I have finally made it, Yuppie scum!! Now all i need are some kids (one is on the way though) to truck back and forth to soccer practice and I'm all set.

Thanks to Rans and Chris V.C. for their help, and it was great meeting you guys.

P.S. I have 4 IPS 950DR's for sale or trade if anyone wants them.

Zak,

You are not a Yuppy yet, unless you can do the following four things at the same time:

#1 Drive
#2 Drink your Latte
#3 Talk on your cell phone
#4 Wave at other Disco owners

Mark,

No pic's yet. The rack is a little beat up, so I'm going to take it off and sand it, then repaint it. Na, I'm no yuppie. Just a DOINK (dual income no kids)

Paul,

#1- got that down.
#2- Never had a Latte. I'm a straight coffe kind of guy. Got to be Wawa regual with a third hazelnut!!!!!!
#3- I don't have a cell phone. I know, I'm hte last one on earth!!!
#4- I wave, but no disco's wave back. Got a nice wave from a guy in a sweet RRC the other day.

I threw my cell phone into a river. If they need me, they'll find me. Right off the Wilson Bridge it went. WhooSH! gone. now I don't worry about ringing phones in the disco.

Damn...

Based off the above definition I'm skirting on YUPPIE-dum.

#1 I Drive
#2 I drink drip coffee while driving, sometimes Starbucks even ( on).
#3 I own and talk on a cell phone (although not while driving). I have no choice . I'd love to not own one but it comes with the job (a cell phone company).
#4 I wave at other Disco owners and get strange looks and people ducking. They must think I'm waving a hand gun or something...

I'd best be careful. Once slip up and I'll be branded for life.

Todd,
Around here the waving isn't as common unless:
1. you have modified your truck
2. you have a lot of stickers, showing that it clearly isn't a lease vehicle

I've taken to waving to other lifted trucks that don't look like morons or are Ford F-350s.

But then again, I bought my rig pre-modified. I also wave to classic RR owners, they seem to know what their about.

Well, according to Paul's list....I'm a yuppie. Oh well....I wear LLBean too! :)

I was cruising down through Asheville, NC last weekend and the friend I was traveling to see called my cell....right as I passed another Disco! I waved and it was another woman on HER cell phone...needless to say, she didn't wave back. Too hot to drink coffee yet though...I'll be there in another month or so!

Peter,

I can't blame you for not drinking coffee in Seattle. Is there anything else but Starbucks up there? I can't stand that place and will not support them. We have a great little coffee shop in a small town near us that I frequent a few times a week. There is a starbucks across the river, and all the tourists go there, and the locals go the the small shop. Just the way i like it.

So what is a lattee????

Ha this is good stuff......:)

Peter, I am originally from Washington State down around the Chehalis area. I blame Starbucks and Seattle's Best for my current caffiene addiction.

Susannah, it is never too hot to drink coffee!

Now, if my town just had a starbucks, I'd be set.

Thanks for the heads-up Peter. Since I'll have a stock rig until I can get some of Dee's guards and my steelies come in I'll have to run out and get that Pokemon sticker that I've always wanted for my Disco. You don't happen to a spare, do you?

By the way, how do you survive without coffee and having a little one? I too never drank it until I became a working schmuck. A cup a day will do me though...

LOL

Reminds me of a coffee hut near my old office in downtown Seattle. The owner would offer some special "flavoring" for those that frequented her establishment.

For those that have not been to Seattle, you literally can't go a block or two (max) without someone selling coffee in a drive-thru along the road.

Ahhhh, Yeungling.

Greg, can you believe that they (local bars) charge $3.75 a bottle and treat it as an import on the Eastern Shore of MD?!? While that might not seem like much, a 12oz. Bud goes for $1.75. You definitely have to get your swerve on before heading out or resign to dropping $40 inc. tips to get right.

As for lattes, I live in perhaps the yuppiest town in Maryland where we have 4 coffee shops, neither of which is a franchise and not one of them can make a cup of anything that is milder than battery acid. Then again, triple-shots of espresso with a bit of milk will pretty much peel the paint of my disco no matter who makes it.

Steve
"Caffeine, the last legal high"

BTW, I can't drive, drink lattes, talk on the phone AND wave while I'm giving my kids the "I'm going to stop the Disco and beat somebody" stare. The only waving going on is me attempting to reach one of the little monsters that are jumping around like fleas on hot bricks to avoid my reach.

Steve,

I can believe it because up here in Conshohocken, where I live, it is like $3.75 to $4.50 a glass for draft Yeng. Bastards.

Sometimes they have it for $2/glass on certain nights though.

All I can say is "Thursday" is my new lager night......... mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.... Lager. :D

Coffee...makes me ill. Last time I had some my brother poisined my hot choclate with the stuff...It was about 3:00am as we readied to climb Mt. Katahdin (sp?)...took a big swallow of what i thought was hot chocolate....hurled about halfway up...

Todd, that last outstanding image is of a friend fondly referred to as "English". It is on the ROVERS website from an outing last weekend to Old Rhinebeck british car day. Old planes and cars.

Just thought it was funny. He will probably see it and wonder how the heck it ended up here, but isn't that where most of our compromising pictures are bound to end up. :)

When I was in Ireland a few years back, all the local were making fun of Killians red, being it's made by Bud isn't it?

Also over there, a pint of Guinesse (sp?) was only a pound (around a $1.50 at the time) and a coors light or bud was around 4 pounds. So i had me a pint. Not bad. Although I'm with Paul, I much prefer a nice scotch.

Here is what their website says:

"George Killian Lett comes from a long line of brew masters. As part of the fifth generation, he's carrying on the family tradition that began way back in 1864, in Enniscorthy, Ireland. On this page, we've included a few images that the family has collected in the years since theyve been in the brewing business."

However, it lists an address in Golden, Co., so I would assume it is bottled by Coors.

Todd: (just do a search for screen shots and watch for the "grail shaped beacon"

Oh, I am afraid our life must seem very dull and quiet compared to yours. We are but eight score young blondes and brunettes, all between sixteen and nineteen-and-a-half, cut off in this castle with no one to protect us. Oooh. It is a lonely life: bathing, dressing, undressing, knitting exciting underwear. We are just not used to handsome knights. Nay. Nay. Come. Come. You may lie here.

Oh, wicked, wicked Zoot. Oh, she is a naughty person and she must pay the penalty, and here in Castle Anthrax, we have but one punishment for setting alight the grail-shaped beacon: you must tie her down on a bed and spank her

So........ step lively and stop all that silly walk business.........

NASA sends a space shuttle up with two pigs and a blonde on board. While the shuttle is taking off, the NASA command center calls the first pig and asks, "Pig#1, do you know your mission?"

The pig replies, "Oink oink. Get the shuttle into orbit and launch the trillion dollar satellite. Oink oink."

Then NASA Control asks the second pig, "Pig #2, do you know your mission?"

The second pig replies, "Oink oink.Once Pig #1 has completed the trillion dollar satellite launch, close hatch, and go back to Earth.Land shuttle. Oink oink."

Then NASA asks the blonde, "Blonde woman, do you know your mission?"

The blonde woman replies, "Ummmmmmm.... Oh yeah, I remember now. 'Feed the pigs - and DON'T TOUCH A GODDAMNED THING!"

Blue,

It's just one of the many flavors available at the local watering hole. I think it is brewed in Louisiana by the Abita Brewing company. There is a website for them.

Good stuff.
