Anyone know if a clogged catalytic converter can cause starting problems? My cat's gotten clogged up over time, and i can know hear a slight exhaust leak (sounds like the manifold gasket is going out). At the same time, i've started to experience starting problems. If its been sitting anything longer than 20 minutes, it seems to take about 5-10 seconds of spinning to start up. Doesn't seem like a fuel pressure leak, because the pressure remains contant. If i drive it and turn it off, it starts right back up normally. but if it sits too long, it takes a bit of spinning before starting. And to add to that, it sat for four days this weekend while i was away, and cranked right up the first try. But after i drove it and let it sit for an hour, the starting problems came back. any ideas?
