Ok, so sometimes, not always, and never while cruising (like I could hear it anyway with the mud tyres on) the exhaust seems to rattle quite a bit. I'm really hoping its the heat shield and not the cats, any way to be sure other than just crawl around down there and beat on stuff? How does one tighten the heat shield? anythoughts on this newest of noises? |

aaahhh. That stupid heat shield. To tighten it you'll need a 10mm wrench and a rubber arm. You'll have to reach up (blind) and feel for them. However, on my '94, it turned out that the nuts weren't loose, the shield itself (right at the studs) had crumbled away, -nothing to tighten down. I wound up just pulling the stupid thing off. Still driving around in Phoenix (107 degrees today) and nothing's caught fire yet. Good luck Jim |
