I am about to replace the clutch in my 94 Disco. The manual claims that the rear main cap must be loosened to replace the rear main oil seal. Can't this seal be replaced by just hammering it in like other seals? Anybody tried this? |

I think that once you're looking at it you'll see that a hammer isn't going to be the tool of choice. The goal is to stop the leak, remember? |

The crucifix (sp?) seals are a bit different from maybe what you're used to. They go between the rearmost cap and the block. It's really obvious once you take the pan off. Bill |

Yeah , I got an update , I spooged that shit with indian head sealant..... The old FE fords had that same damn thing , I pretty much hate em... Kyle |
