will i need new steering stops on a D1 with 265/75's? what will happen if i dont have them? |

no, you just need to adjust them...if you dont adjust the tires will rub on radius arm when you turn wheels all the way left or right WR |

There is a bolt on each swivel housing, part that holds the chrome looking balls, that acts as a steering stop so that your tires don't rub at full lock. The bolt is located in the bottom front of each swivel housing. Crank the wheel over and get down and you look at the swivel housing and you will see what the bolt does. Adjust the bolt out on each side till your tires don't rub at full lock. You will lose some turning radius but not too bad. |

Here is picture of the bolt, my mistake the bolt is in the middle front of each housing. I am running 245/75/16 tires, you may have to have a longer bolt for 265/75/16 tires.

Anyone have a pic of the steering stop on a DII? I don't see anything that looks like the bolt/locking nut on the D1. I'm putting on bigger tires soon and may need to adjust the steering stops. Rick |
