I am going to be running a '98 Disco tdi here in Moscow, Russia, and it's awfully dark in the winter! I am considering all options to improve the lighting; any suggestions? Some alternatives I am considering: 1. Lightforce driving lights. 2. Xenon conversion for the headlights (you lose the highbeams, but these can then be wired to driving lights, can't they? Anybody tried this?) 3. Auxiliary low beams. My other car is a BMW 540 with factory xenon headlights. They are great, but it's the Rover that's going to get the bad weather/winter driving duty! Any suggestions? I will be very grateful for the benefit of any of your experiences. |

I have the lightforce lights and wouldn't trade them for anything else I've seen. They now make an HID version that is even more powerful than the ones I have, and far cheaper than the Hella 4000 HID. It really depends on your needs. The Largest of the Lightforce lights (not xenon) each give about 10x the amount of light the normal headlamps do. Converting to xenon is not going to even be a close comparison. However, they are far too bright to use on the roads with any traffic. Best of luck, -P |

Thanks! Maybe halogen Lightforce lights then, and convert the headlights to xenon (for driving in traffic). Hmmm. |
