You might try CarFax. I think they do vin searches.

Call your insurance agent and ask them to do a vin run on the vehicle. Carfax does not show all insurance claims related to a vin. I found this out the hard way. |

I was told that sometimes a LR dealership gives out info like service records, especially if they think you will bring it to them (which I may do). |
