G'day all, Just the facts... Wife and I were in her Disco (94) driving around after a snowfall to check out a X-country ski area. Had been driving through slush and snow on secondary roads, went to get on the Interstate and the truck died -- actually coughed and died. It acted as though we ran out of petrol. I tried to start the Disco to no avail. As she paniced and started to clean the inside, I turned the switch off then on to see if I could hear the pump pumping -- nothing. I checked the fuse and it was good. I decided to replace it anyway and the truck started right up. Questions: -- "old" fuse that looked ok but the contacts were bad? -- a grounding problem for the pump? -- a bad pump? This has never happened before just as a FYI. Thanks! Tad |

It lookes good, but was it blown?? Those plastic fuses are funny, sometimes they look 'good' but the have been blown.. Happened to me lots of times in my truck(tractor trailer) The only way to tell is to buy a cheap(couple bucks) point tester and test the fuse on both sides, there is a small hole there where you can test continuity.. That might be what happened, get one of those testers, keep it with ya. JMcD |
