Do you think those new 2003 lamps could be made to fit into a d1? or not a chance...?
(I think they look cool - I guess this could be a similiar thread to the Saudi Grill topic) :)

Dealer said yes, but would be something like $1500 (I think that included the new grill too).

I don't think that they'll fit because of the angled signal light of the D1. The 2003 has a square shape to it.

And the hood is different. I would think that IF you could you would need to replace all the sheet metal forward of the windshield. And then see if the body mount is the same. A 2003 to a 1999-2002 swap might be possible but the D2 is too different and wider than the D1.

Anybody know if the new lights are HID's or are they still using 12v bulbs in them?
That said you can convert out H4 lights to HID for about $600. But unfortunately dual filiment bulbs dont work to well for HID's. The beam pattern really suffers. I'm assuming Rover moved to a dual bulb designt so they could have HID's. Could just be looks though.
thanks

They're plain ol' halogen 12v bulbs.

They are not HID's on the '03 Disco, but are on the Range Rover.

Its an option on the 2003 - £800
Same fittings etc as the RR the dealer in Leeds told me.

I settled for the ring bulbs which give (almos) the same effect as the HID only £25.00

Must be a bargain ;o)
