The key will work without the battery, so pop it out, and take it to a radio-shack or watch shop for replacement.   Mr UK Solihull Posted on Friday, September 06, 2002 - 06:06 pm:    Also make certain you buy the correct battery. Check the manual for the battery number. Any other type even if correct voltage, can give you problems. When fitting the new battery, remove the old, press the button and hold for 10seconds to discharge the capacitors, then fit the new battery. [Try to keep greasy fingers off the new battery.] You might need to point handset at car and press handset'lock' several times to syncronise hand-set with car security.
