This is how it starts. You get a nice clean rover and then it has huge tires and lots of body damage BUT NOT THIS TIME So I have bought this new disco. Black 96 5 speed. It needs front shocks so I am thinking about putting some springs in too (why not, I am in there anyway). I have some RR rear springs that are in pretty good shape that I want to try in front and either some CB spacers in the rear or some 220-250# rate rears. I am going to keep the stock tires for on road and am really looking for something that will handle and especially tow well and be stable. The thing is fast (for a rover) so I would like it to not be top heavy. So, do you think the springs are a good idea or no? It has been so long since I have been in a non stock rover that had less than 2in of lift and it is kinda hard to bring myself to modify it. Ron |

If it's kinda hard to bring yourself to modify the Rover, why bother? Don't want it to become unstable and top heavy? Leave it the way it is. You don't HAVE to lift the Disco. If you are in need of shocks, try the yellow Bilstein HDs. I switched to those a couple of years ago and have been very pleased with them. Good response on road and off. And if you decide that you MUST lift the truck, they have worked great with my RTE 2" Lift Springs. |
