I am slowly planning on building up my D1 and am leaning towards an ARB bumper. If I am to add a winch, it may be the Warn 12000 pounder.

My question is, what is the diff between the air bag and non air bag bumper/guards? Is there a serious highway saftey issue? Does the use of the winch require the non air bag version?

 Thanks in advance.

Does anybody know of any issues between the winch, airbag vs. non-airbag bumper? I'm looking at a performance aspect as well as safety.

Steve - see Kyles "window" for pix of the airbag ARB bumper! If you want to winch and hi-lift regularly and want to keep at least some approach angle (not good with either ARB), then go with the non-airbag. If you want to keep completely compliant with the original airbag system design, go with the airbag version.

Do a search as this has been discussed ad nauseum in the past......

If you are serious enough to buy a 12K winch don't screw around with the airbag bumper.

Good point - I think (am not positive) that the 12K only fits in the non-airbag
