I am slowly planning on building up my D1 and am leaning towards an ARB bumper. If I am to add a winch, it may be the Warn 12000 pounder. My question is, what is the diff between the air bag and non air bag bumper/guards? Is there a serious highway saftey issue? Does the use of the winch require the non air bag version? Thanks in advance. |

Does anybody know of any issues between the winch, airbag vs. non-airbag bumper? I'm looking at a performance aspect as well as safety. |

Steve - see Kyles "window" for pix of the airbag ARB bumper! If you want to winch and hi-lift regularly and want to keep at least some approach angle (not good with either ARB), then go with the non-airbag. If you want to keep completely compliant with the original airbag system design, go with the airbag version. Do a search as this has been discussed ad nauseum in the past...... Bill |

If you are serious enough to buy a 12K winch don't screw around with the airbag bumper. |

Good point - I think (am not positive) that the 12K only fits in the non-airbag Bill |
