I just got an adventure rack on my Disco. Never thought I really would, but the price was right and we actually need it!! Anyway, there is one spot on it that I will need to have welded to really repair in the future. But I figure I can patch it for now. Have any of you had the coating come off the racks, and how have you fixed it? Second, there is a Hella "Taurus" work lamp on the back. I want to wire it to a toggle switch inside. I would like to have it in the empty swith bay in between the window switches in the center console, but I want it to look "stock". Any ideas on the right switch to use? And when I wire it, is there any specific thing I need to do to make it work right? http://landrover.mrbaileyshistory.net |

R. B. If its Powder-coated in the UK it will come off. You can patch the coating look on http://www.eastwoodco.com. If me I would wait untill you have all the welding and mods done and just touch it up with some paint. When or if you want to get it coated find a quality shop to get it coated, Look in there yard at the type of products. also Look for one that will abrasive blast then bake it to remove all the mositure and oils prior to coating. Most small shops skimp and if its somewhat clean they will coat over it... I got a big education looking around last week for a shop to do my Diff Guards i went with a quality shop did not want my customers to feel they were made in the UK... |
