Hi all, I am very new to Land Rover and have purchased my first vechicle, with the aim of pleasing the family on-road, and exciting the kids off road, I have purchased a 2000 Discovery TD5 GS, advertised with ACE, and as the saleman tells me this is great, however, I recently took the vechicle wading and afterwards read the manual to see that i should check the fluids for any cloudyness, when I read the manual and tried to locate the ACE fluid resovior, it was not there! I have also checked for the self-test illumination when turning the key, this is not present either. Could I please ask for any advise in this matter? Many thanks in advance Craig Porter |

Easiest way is to look behind the right side front tire for the "actuator arm" on the torsion bar. You can't miss it. Also, the power steering and ACE systems share the same "resevoir". If you see two caps, you've got ACE. |

Thanks for the advice, I have also found some additional point, for others to note, On the right hand side of the vehicle under the drivers door, there should be a large block bolted to the chassis with pipes leading in and out of it. Also the systems check when you turn the key to position II should illuminate the ACE indicator to 2 sec's on red and 2 secs on amber. Unfortunately I have confirmed that my vehicle does not have ACE as advertised so I am now a little upset with the retailer concerned. |
