Help me out guys. My brother has a disco, and has gotten into tons of wheeling, (a bug I planted in him) I know alot about wheeling, have a k5 blazer myself, but I don't know anything about his rig. his birthday is coming up, what are some of the basic upgrades that are common, and how much are they? what are the first things needed to be modified on a disco? |

Well, there are lots of differing opinions on this. And it depends on how serious the trails are that you wheel on. Probably the cheapest/quickest mod you can do to gain more articulation is to buy/make a set of rear sway bar disconnects. This will get you more articulation on the trails = more traction b/c wheels are on the ground and not in the air. Then you can decide if you want to get bigger tires, which require a lift and possibley some fender trimming. DO a search for CB lift on this board for a cheap lift alternative, otherwise new shocks and springs will run you about $550. If you're in really rocky terrain you might want to think about armor. Dee makes some sweet diff guards and www.rovertym.com makes, IMHO, the best sliders for a disco. Good luck and have fun! |
