Will be installing the custom sliders JBS made up for me this weekend. Will be using the rivnut method along with the frame sliders and bolts. Any tricks or little things (big things) I should know before I get started? I have the instructions off EE, here and RTE. Ron Ward p.s. Great job on the site!! |

Like I told you; early start, good drill, patience with the rivnuts. Scott |

Ron I think that John Lee said when installing the rivnuts it will start denting the hole when hammering. It will (not much ) Just follow EE instructions and you will have no problem. I did mine my self it took 3hrs on the one side and 2 on the other. since I was my own boss I took alot of smoke breaks. Even though EE instructions have you fitting and remove alot follow them I had no problems with any holes lining up Good Luck Michael B |

Clean out the drain holes in your sills and clean the inside out (probably filled with mud), then get some rust proofer (not undercoat) and spray it inside. ATF or oil will work too. Would also help to paint the area where the rivnut goes in so they don't rust. Since you are mounting the sliders to them you don't want the sills to rust. Ron PS shop days are the best |
