Lately my lights, both interior and headlight, have been blinking. The problem has slowly increased in severity. It gets worse the more stress I put on the electrical system (a/c, lights, etc..) However, the stereo (aftermarket) does not seem to be affected nor does it affect the problem. I have a new battery which reads at least 13v at all times, and all new cables and connections. This problem started before the new battery and was part of the decistion to buy a new one. Any suggestions? Thanks Chad |

Blinking as in ON and OFF? or more like pulsating? |

what year disco? could be the alternator letting you know that it's about to go. the battery basically starts the vehicle and/or powers accessories when engine is not running. the alternator provides power when engine is running. |

Alternator would be my focus, even it seems to be charging the battery ok, the regulator or diodes could be going out which would cause irregular voltages. Shane |

My disco was doing the same thing, but it would come and go. I found out the needles on the voltage regulator were sticking. |

It is a 98 Disco and the lights are pulsating not actually blinking on and off. When you turn the lights on you can hear the engine idle slow down. Thanks |

I took it to CarX to have the alternator check...and it is OK. Problem is that now my check engine light is on. BASTARDS! |

Needles on voltage regulator? I can't seem to find the regulator. Is in the alternator or somewere else in the engine compartment? |
